Spread across 8.6 square miles, nestled in the north eastern
portion of Morris County, New Jersey, sits Boonton Township; a community of
4,400. Boonton's history stretches back to The American Civil War where The
Powerville Hotel, still standing, was built to accommodate both the Morris canal
and transient trade. It later gained fame as a pre-American Civil War
Underground Railroad station. Dolan Fall's is a beautiful area to visit within
the township, offering a serene escape from the monotonous work week of the
working residents in Boonton.
The Boonton Township School District serves 520 public school
students from Kindergarten through grade eight, all of whom attend Rockaway
Valley School. Students in grades nine through twelve attend Mountain Lakes High
School in Mountain Lakes, NJ.
Boonton is located right along Route 287 making it very
convenient to get in and out of the township.
