Madison, also is known as "The Rose City", is a borough in
Morris County, New Jersey with a population of 16,530. This borough has had a
lot of press in the past; episodes of hit TV show The Sopranos was filmed in Madison along with
scenes from popular movies such as A Beautiful
Mind, Guess Who, Rich and Famous, The Family Stone among others. Robert
Ludlum even mentioned "a private airfield in Madison, New Jersey" in his novel "
The Bourne Identity".
The Madison Public Schools serve students in kindergarten
through twelfth grade. There are three elementary schools in Madison including,
Central Avenue School which educates 480 students in Kindergarten through fifth
grade, and Kings Road School and Torey J. Sabatini School, both K-5 schools
serving 310 and 328 students respectively. Madison Junior School educates 440
students and Madison High School serves 760 students including residents from
Harding Township.
Saint Vincent Martyr School is a Catholic school that serves
students in grades Pre-K through six, operated under the auspices of the Roman
Catholic Diocese of Paterson. Seton Hall College was originally established in
Madison, New Jersey in 1856 but later relocated to its current location in South
Orange, New Jersey in the late nineteenth century. Drew University and portions
of Fairleigh Dickinson University are also located in Madison.
