The Township of Roxbury encompasses just over 21 square miles of
northwestern Morris County, New Jersey. Home to more than 23,000 residents
Roxbury includes other unincorporated communities and neighborhoods including
Berkshire Valley, Landing, Ledgewood and Port Morris.
Ledgewood Mall and Roxbury Mall are regional shopping malls
located within the township.
The Roxbury School District serves students in Kindergarten
through twelfth grade. Schools in this district include Franklin Elementary
School educates 375 students in Kindergarten through third grade, and Kennedy
Elementary School, a K through fourth grade school serving 360 students.
Jefferson Elementary School is a K through five school educating about 460
students while Nixon Elementary School serves more than 370 Kindergarten through
third grade students. 650 plus fifth and sixth grade students attend Lincoln
Roosevelt School, while the more than 700 seventh and eighth graders attend
Eisenhower Middle School. Roxbury High School educates more than 1,500 students
from Roxbury and Mount Arlington. St. Therese School is a Catholic school,
serving grades PreK-8, operated under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Diocese
of Paterson.
Interstate 80, U.S. Route 46, U.S. Route 206, Route 10 and Route 183 all pass
through the township. The Lake Hopatcong New Jersey Transit station is served by
the Morristown Line and the Montclair-Boonton Line, with service to Hoboken
Terminal or to Pennsylvania Station in Midtown Manhattan.
